The Manaslu region trekking is one of the best super treks in the Himalayas. It offers a wilderness adventure with a blend of traditional culture. Located in the north-west of Kathmandu, this area provides amazing views of the border between Nepal and Tibet.
As the trail passes through this stunning landscape, travelers can expect to see a wide variety of species. A few of the most common are Rhododendron, aromatic plants, and medicinal plants.
This area also includes Himalayan pine. In fact, the Manaslu Conservation Area is home to more than 150 species of flora and fauna.
The spring season is the best time to explore this region. You'll find beautiful wildflowers and splendid views of snow-capped mountains. However, you'll need to keep in mind that heavy rainfall can cause landslides and flight cancellations.
If you are planning to travel to this region, you'll need to apply for a Local Area Permit. It requires a short form and payment in local currency. After the application is approved, your permit will allow you to enter the area. Your permit will also record your trek and help to keep track of your safety and security.
To get a permit, you'll need to provide your passport details, two photos, and payment. You can purchase your permits from a travel agency or at the post office. You can also use your credit card or ATM card. Traveler's checks are available as well.
Accommodation on your trip will vary depending on which route you take. You can stay at hotels, guesthouses, or tea houses. The less trodden areas don't have as many lodging options as the more popular routes.
